When KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! Fantastic Days was released exclusively in Japan earlier this year, a number of fans were disappointed. Fortunately, there’s good news since the game is now set to be released worldwide in 2021. It’s going to be available for both Android and iOS devices.
KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! Fantastic Days follows the storyline as well as features the original characters from the anime of the same name. It’s not only that since some Japanese voice actors are set to reprise their roles. These include Jun Fukushima, who voices Kazuma, and Sora Amamiya, responsible for bringing the character of the goddess Aqua to life.
There’s also a surprise for fans since the KonoSuba game is also set to offer new unique stories while also introducing characters that have been made exclusively for this version.
The game is based on the anime series KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World!, which follows the story of Kazuma Sato, a shut-in who dies and gets transported to a fantasy world that has MMORPG elements. He manages to bring with him a goddess, and in their quest to defeat the Devil King, he meets a wide range of characters like a wizard who only knows one spell and a crusader that is apparently into something weird.
KonoSuba was first released as a light novel, with an anime released in 2016. Since then there have been two seasons and a film. The anime has received positive reception with many citing its comedy and how it serves as a parody of isekai, a genre that for some has become rather tiring. The anime was praised as well for how faithful it is to the light novel.
The KonoSuba game was released exclusively in Japan in February, and has enjoyed a positive response and massive commercial success. It’s developed by Sumzap and published in Japan by Kadokawa. The global publishing rights, meanwhile, were acquired by Nexon America.
