Several press render leaks have surfaced for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, revealing its color options and dual edge curved display. However, a new leaked image gives a more up-close and in-depth look at the soon-to-be-announced smartphone.
The angular shot, shared Tuesday by tech informant Evan Blass, shows off a lot of the features of the Galaxy Note 7. First, the device is the Coral Blue model, and we also see it boasts a light gold trim. Much like the Galaxy S7 Edge, the curvature of the dual edge display allows the device to be quite thin. However, the chassis is still thick enough to hold the Galaxy Note signature S-Pen Stylus.
In the image, the stylus is removed from the handset and reveals it has the same push-to-eject mechanism that was introduced on the Galaxy Note 5. Hopefully, the Galaxy Note 7 won’t have the same issue consumers discovered on the Galaxy Note 5; inserting the S-Pen backwards had the potential to break the phone and disable some of the stylus’ functionality.
The image also shows the smartphone's USB Type-C port more clearly than any other leaked image. Other features showcased include the fingerprint sensor in the home button, a bottom facing speaker, a headphone jack and front-facing camera module, which may be the sensor for the Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner.
The render is high quality, which leads us to believe it is a legitimate press render from Samsung. It also matches other high quality render images that have leaked recently, revealing the Galaxy Note 7 color options as Black Onyx, Silver Titanium and Blue Coral. There will also be a pink color option, which currently does not have an official name.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is set to launch Aug. 2 in New York City.
