Another major content patch for League of Legends: Wild Rift has arrived. Patch 4.2 added a ton of new content, including Jericho Swain to the champion roster.
New Champion
Jericho Swain, the Noxian Grand General, is ready to invade and strike fear into the hearts of enemies in Patch 4.2. While his left arm was severed in the Ionian Wars, Swain could still seize control of the empire with ruthless determination thanks to his new demonic hand.
Swain's passive, Ravenous Flock, allows him to collect Soul Fragments by killing enemy champions. Additionally, he gains Soul Fragments when his other abilities, Vision of Empire and Nevermore, hit enemy champions. Soul Fragments restore up to 9% of his max health, but what's even more interesting is that they permanently grant Swain 12 points to his max HP. Because of this, he becomes tankier when he keeps on obliterating enemy champions, which is insane!
For his active abilities, let's start with Death's Hand which launches Eldritch Bolts in a cone, dealing 371 magic damage to enemies within range. Each bolt after the first deals 94 magic damage, up to 745 damage.
Vision of Empire is an AoE that, after a short delay, deals 571 magic damage and slows enemies down by 60% for 2.5 seconds. Affected enemies are revealed for seven seconds as well. Enemies hit by Vision of Empire should cower in fear because they are exposed and prone to be ganked or collapsed on.
To ensure that enemies won't run away from his grasp, Swain can unleash Nevermove - a wave of demonic power that deals 35/70/105/140/175 (+25% of ability power) magic damage. This wave returns, detonating on the first enemy hit, dealing 35/45/55/65/75 (+25% of ability power) damage, and rooting enemies in an area for 1.5 seconds.
His ultimate, Demonic Ascension, makes Swain unleash the demon inside him for 12 seconds. When activated, Swain gains 125/200/275 (+5 for each Soul Fragment) max health and doubles the health collected with Soul Fragments. Furthermore, Swain deals 35/50/65 (14.167% of ability power) magic damage each second and restores 20/35/50 (+16% of ability power) health per target damaged while in this state. This effect is reduced by 90% against non-champions.
During Ascension, Swain can recast his ultimate. Doing so unleashes a demonflare, which ends the transformation and deals 100/150/200 (+50% of ability power) plus 75% of healing from this ability as magic damage (max 200/300/400 (+100% of ability power) damage).
His Demonic Ascension is pretty OP, at the moment, because as long as there's an enemy champion within range, he can be in the Ascended state indefinitely.
So, what do you think of the new champion, Swain? Do you think he's overpowered?
