Riot Games’ mobile port League of Legends getting a new patch - complete with new heroes, rune reworks, new skins, and more.
League of Legends: Wild Rift will have Update 2.3 tomorrow and with it comes a lot of goodies.
First of all, you can expect four new heroes to join the fray. These are Senna, Irelia, Lucian, and Riven, however, Irelia is a bit different from her PC version.
As explained by game director Alan “RiotMirross” Moore, the dev team has come across a slight problem with the mobile port of Irelia. Her Bladesurge ability is difficult to use, especially if you are aiming at multiple minions with low health at once.
So, to somehow fix the issue, the devs changed the mechanics of the skill. It will prioritize marked targets in the first run-through while quick taps will prioritize champions, making the ability smoother for players to use.
Runes Rework
The developers have noticed that there are some runes rarely used. That is why some of them are getting reworked to increase their appeal.
Two Rune Keystones, Kleptomancy and Font of Life, have been underperforming and devs thought of changing one rune and tweaking the other.
The Kleptomancy keystone has been removed and replaced by Phase Rush. PC players already know what this is, but for those who don’t, the keystone provides you with a large burst in movement speed after hitting an enemy champion three consecutive times. In addition, your champion will also be very resistant to slow effects.
As for Font of Life, the marking of the target will be changed from impairing the target's movement speed to just any ability or attack. This change allows you and your allies to get healed no matter what attack or skill is used.
Other runes are being reworked, so it is highly recommended that you look into the official blog post for more information.
New Skins
A new Wild Rift update will not be complete without mentioning new skins. Players can expect new Pool Party skins for Lee Sin, Renekton, and Leona.
You should also look out for Battle Academia skins for Lux and Ezreal, as well as the Arcade skin for Kai’Sa.
The League of Legends: Wild Rift Patch 2.3 will go live on June 1. What are you most excited about?
