Rumors and leaks for the LG V20 have quickly culminated when LG announced a launch event for the smartphone, Thursday. News of the device just started circulating in recent weeks, and now, LG has sent out press invites for the LG V20 unveiling on Sept. 6 in San Francisco.
The device is already creating buzz, as it will be the first smartphone to run Android 7.0 Nougat natively. The smartphone will release before Google’s own Nexus devices , which are designed as the ideal hardware for pure Android software. However, LG will likely have a custom user interface for the V20.
A recent leak by Phones Spot reveals possible LG V20 specs, including a 5.7 inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 820 chip, 4GB of RAM, a 21-megapixel main camera and 8-megapixel front camera, the secondary display feature first introduced on the LG V10, and of course, Android 7.0 Nougat.
The LG V20 is expected to retain a design similar to the LG V10 and will not include any modular features like the LG G5, according to the tech blog. So far, no image leaks have surfaced for the device.
The LG V20 may sell in the $600 range upon release, according to Engadget . The price likely won’t differ much from that of the LG V10.
