With Super Bowl 50 fastly approaching, EA Sports and Madden NFL 16 have completed its annual Super Bowl simulation and in 2016, the prediction paints a competitive game that watchers will enjoy.
According to Madden 16, the Carolina Panthers will defeat the Denver Broncos 24-20 but it’s not the final score that is the story but the great comeback that Madden simulates Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning to have.
The Super Bowl 50 Madden simulation hasn’t dropped just yet, but EA Sports has promised it will be released Monday.
But we do know how the game does go down and the Panthers will start fast jumping to a 10-0 lead after a long kick return from Ted Ginn Jr.. The drive ends with a touchdown pass from Cam Newton to tight end Greg Olsen. Running Back Jonathan Stewart punches in the second touchdown of the game in the second quarter as the two teams go into halftime with the Panthers up 17-0.
But Peyton Manning won’t go down without a fight and brings his team back from the brink of being blown out for the second time in three years.
A third quarter touchdown pass to Emanuel Sanders gets the Broncos on the board before Aqib Talib picks off Cam Newton to set up a Broncos field goal. In the final quarter, Manning finds Demaryius Thomas for another score and putting the Broncos up 20-17.
After 20 unanswered points, Cam Newton takes the Panthers on his back and drives down the field to score a touchdown on a goal line run. The Panthers will take the lead and not relinquish it.
Newton wins the Super Bowl MVP after completing 19 of 26 passes for 216 yards with one touchdown and one interception but it’s the final drive that really made Newton win the award.
Madden’s Super Bowl predictions are pretty accurate as they have called the winner nine of the last 12 years including Super Bowl 49 when Madden not only got the score correct but also called Tom Brady’s MVP and the 10-point third quarter comeback.
Will Madden get this year’s winner correct? Super Bowl 50 airs at 6:30 p.m. EST Feb. 7 on CBS.
In the meantime, EA Access members can get Madden 16 for free along with Battlefield 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition and FIFA 15.
