Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order’s very first free DLC is now available on Nintendo Switch, and it seems Marvel and Nintendo have kept their promise. Joining the ultimate alliance are two of the most iconic characters from Marvel’s X-Men, Cyclops and Colossus. While these characters were present in the game as non-playable allies, Cyclops and Colossus are now playable thanks to the DLC.
Cyclops and Colossus in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 do justice to their comic book counterparts, so there’s plenty of content in the free DLC to geek out about. Of course, players will still have to unlock Cyclops and Colossus to actually play them in-game, but it shouldn’t be too hard for anyone who’s already beaten Story Mode.
The free DLC also includes three new costumes for characters that are already in-game. The Planet Hulk costume is now available for everyone’s favorite gamma-irradiated Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man gets his iconic black Symbiote Suit, and for Captain Marvel, the classic Ms. Marvel costume is now available.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order came out just a little over a month ago, so getting a bunch of free content this early on is definitely something to get excited about, but that’s not all. This update may be the game’s first DLC, but it definitely won’t be the last. According to the folks over at Marvel, fans can expect some more free content to launch alongside the three paid DLCs planned for the game.
While Cyclops and Colossus are excellent additions to anyone’s alliance, it seems more and more like they’re just here to whet our appetites for what Marvel and Nintendo have planned for this month: the Marvel Knights: Curse of the Vampire DLC. Scheduled to arrive on September 30, the first paid DLC for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 brings the Marvel Knights to the game.
