There may be new fan-favorite characters coming to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, if the latest official merchandise listing is to be believed.
The last few weeks have been amazing for fans of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, as there have been numerous gameplay trailers, news, and other information dropped with regards to the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive title developed by Team Ninja. With a release date less than two months away, the hype is certainly palpable, and now it’s surely about to heat up more, as evidenced by what seems to be three new Marvel characters making their way into Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.
More specifically, we can now somewhat officially count Ant-Man/Giant-Man, Elektra and Vision to star in the updated roster for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. This is amazing news for fans of these characters, as well as those looking for more characters to join, since it’s now possible that their own favorites can still make the cut as well.
The reveal for these three characters isn’t in any way what we could call ‘official,’ since it was not announced through conventional means. The reveal was made accidentally with the release of official merchandise for the game, which the official Marvel Games Twitter account announced. While the tweet has since been deleted and the Amazon listings also semi-purged (one t-shirt listing remains here), we do have GameRant to thank for providing us with screenshots of the official t-shirt designs.
The first one features the Avengers cast, namely Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Hulk, and Hawkeye. At the very top of the photo, though, you can clearly see Ant-Man/Giant-Man battling a gigantic Ultron bot. Also, above Hawkeye is Vision, who seems to have gone through a bit of redesigning himself.
The other photo features a smaller cast of characters who are particularly involved in low-level street stuff for Marvel. Daredevil and Iron Fist are featured prominently against the backdrop of what I can only assume to be Shadowland. The kicker here is that it also includes Elektra, Daredevil’s occasional lover (at least in the comics). Her design is more in line with her comics counterpart as well, and does not follow the character played by Elodie Yung from the Marvel’s Daredevil Netflix series.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order releases on July 19, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
