A day before Project xCloud's official launch, Microsoft revealed that their video game streaming service will have more than 150 games to stream when it officially launches today for Android devices and tablets.
Project xCloud is bundled with Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The Xbox Game Pass Android application will receive an update today in 22 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Although Microsoft announced last week that it will be adding EA Play games to Xbox Game Pass, those games are missing from the list of 150 games. However, the company has also announced that EA Play games will be available for streaming via Project xCloud later this year.
Moreover, Project xCloud continues to get fine-tuned and optimized for game streaming. The application will be featuring on-screen touch controls for a variety of games over time. However, the first game to feature full-fledged touch controls is Minecraft: Dungeons. Players can also control the size of on-screen touch controls.
There's also sad news for iPhone and iPad users, as Project xCloud will not be available on the App Store as the app apparently violates Apple's guidelines. Last week, Apple offered a proposition to game streaming services like Stadia and Project xCloud on Apple devices, but with a catch. If Microsoft and Google Stadia want to cater to the iOS audience, they'll have to offer their games as separate iOS applications.
