Popular streamer "Dream" has decided to delete his now infamous face reveal video after all of the negative attention he's gotten after its release.
Minecraft is one of those games universally loved by many regardless of one's age. It has a thriving community filled with numerous content creators that stream the game on their channels. One of the most popular content creators in the Minecraft space is Clayton Ray Huff, widely known as "Dream."
Dream is a popular YouTuber and Twitch Streamer who was best known for wearing a smiley mask while streaming Minecraft on his channels. Despite his elusive nature back then, a lot of people loved his content mainly because of his skills in playing the simple-looking, yet complex game. He grew a massive fanbase, currently sitting at over 31.6 million subscribers on YouTube and 6.4 million followers on Twitch.
Why the Face Reveal?
Dream started his YouTube channel back in 2014. So, for quite some time, people had seen him only with a smiley mask on. That's why, in October 2022, it was quite a shock when Clayton finally revealed his face to the world. But why did he do it in the first place?
The reason is actually quite simple. He just wanted to create a series of videos with his best friend, George Henry Davidson, aka YouTuber GeorgeNotFound, who at that time had just gotten his US visa.
Unsavory Response
When Clayton removed his infamous mask via a video he posted on his YouTube channel, the community reaction was mixed, with some people posting hurtful comments about the popular Minecraft streamer. Most of the reactions were centered around his appearance. It got so bad that the words "HE's UGLY" was trending on Twitter shortly after the video was posted.
Taken Down
Clayton recently uploaded a video with the title, "bye, from Dream." In a message posted in the video description, he said that he regretted the attention and hate he got from revealing his face to the public, so he's walking it all back.
He went on to say that he will slowly be deleting all of his pictures online and just going back to "being a gamer in a mask." He also showcased the new and improved smiley mask that he's going to wear from now on. But more importantly, the video that started the negative reaction has now been deleted from his channel.
It seems that all of the hurtful comments got to him because this is what he said at the end: "Thank you all from the bottom of my heart to those that supported me, even though I am ugly."
So, what can you say about Dream walking it all back?
