A demo for Monster Hunter Rise is set to release for the Nintendo Switch in January 2021. The official game version will roll out a few months later on March 26. The announcement of the demo was revealed at the same time as the trailer for the game itself.
You can watch the trailer below:
The demo is free and allows hunters the chance to try out the inventive set of new tools introduced in the game. There’s also the introduction of the Wirebug mechanic and Palamute companion. These can be used not only to track down but even defeat monsters in new wats.
New Trailer
Going back to the new trailer, it shows two new monsters making their official debut in the game. The first is the Bishaten that stores persimmons in its stomach to hurl at its prey. It also has a unique tail, which it can use to attack. The second is the Somnacanth that expels sleep powder to temporarily stun opponents and leave them open for attacks.
That’s not all. The trailer gives a peek at two monsters set to join the roster as well. It’s the birdlike Great Wroggi and the leviathan Royal Ludroth. Other things revealed in the trailer are the Shrine Ruins hunting grounds and the new Flooded Forest area. The latter, in particular, gives players the chance to explore and battle fierce monsters. There are “Rampage” events as well, which threaten Kamura Village.
More information on the demo and the game itself will become available at a later date.
