Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath Expansion Release Date Announced

Mortal Kombat 11 is ready to release its newest expansion in Aftermath. Aftermath is going to offer a new story which picks up where the main game left off and will introduce three new playable characters. All of this is going to be available on May 26 for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.

So let’s start with the story. For those who managed to finish Mortal Kombat 11, there were three possible endings. In one of these, while Liu Kang was able to defeat Kronika, he wasn’t able to bring back Kitana. This results in Raiden, who has become mortal, to offer himself and become an advisor to Liu Kang.

This is the ending where the expansion starts. As Liu Kang and Raiden are about to use the Hourglass with the intent of restoring history, Shang Tsung arrives and tells them that they need the Crown of Souls to make it happen. Left with no choice, Liu Kang enlists the help of both unlikely allies and familiar foes.

There are three new characters added to the roster in Aftermath. The first is Fujin, who makes his return to Mortal Kombat after more than a decade. The second is sure to be a treat for players as it’s none other than Sheeva. The third is the high-tech RoboCop, which should be fun.

There’s also going to be three new character skin packs along with the exclusive “Thanks a Million” Johnny Cage character skin. With the exception of the new skin packs, all are going to be released on May 26.
