The new season ranked mode for Mortal Kombat 11, Kombat League, officially went live June 18. In this mode, players can go against other online Kombatants in order to earn exclusive in-game rewards. This update is available for free to all those who have Mortak Kombat 11.
The Kombat League season is projected to last for a total of four weeks. During this period, players get the chance to participate in ranked matches and progress through nine tiers, beginning with Apprentice all the way to Elder God. Unlocking each rank gives players the chance to get exclusive in-game items. In addition, rewards are cumulative, which means players can earn all unlocked items up to the highest tier that they achieve within a season. There are also daily and seasonal quests that players can complete and earn in-game items as well. At the end of each season, a new one begins immediately and brings with it new incentives and rewards.
To ensure that players are matched with opponents having the same skill level, Kombat League makes use of an optimized matchmaking system. The Kombat League also brings with it a new meter that gives players a glimpse of what their chances are against an opponent at the start of each ranked match.
Aside from the release of Kombat League, the early access for Shang Tsung is here. Available for those who have the Kombat Pack, Shang Tsung is the first of six playable fighters. For those who already have Mortal Kombat 11, the Kombat Pack is the best choice to upgrade the game experience, especially with all the new downloadable content.
Aside from the upcoming six new DLC playable characters, the Kombat Pack also gives one week early access to DLC characters. Kombat Pack owners also get seven exclusive character skins and seven sets of gear.
The Kombat Pack is available separately, or comes with the Premium Edition and the Kollector's Edition. While both special editions include the exclusive Steelbook, the Kollector's Edition also offers the exclusive Dragon Logo magnet and Scorpion Mask.
