A new limited-time PvP event is now live in Rainbow Six Siege. The Containment event gives everyone the chance to test their skill in the Nest Destruction mode. This new LTE starts today, August 3, and runs until August 24.
The Nest Destruction mode is actually inspired by Rainbow Six Extraction. One difference is that the Consulate map, albeit a reworked version. That’s because it has been overrun with the Chimera Parasite.
Gameplay
So how does this game mode work? Players are divided into two different teams and battle over a Nest. To win, your team needs to wipe out the other team completely.
The Attackers take on the role of REAT agents or Rainbow Exogenous Analysis & Containment Team. This team needs to destroy the nest then take on the final objective to win the round.
The Defenders, meanwhile, are those that have been corrupted by parasites and turned into Archaeans. Because of this, they can move faster and have extra health. To make things fair, they don’t have any weapons and can only make melee attacks, and Oryx’s Remah Dash and Aruni’s punch.
Rewards
The Containment event is good for those who want to collect cosmetic gear and weapon skins. That’s because it brings with it a collection of 33 items for Operators. These include, among others, headgear, uniform, and weapon skins for:
- Attackers
- IQ
- Ace
- Blackbeard
- Amaru
- Zero
- Defenders
- Aruni
- Jäger
- Kaid
- Mira
All of the items are available as part of Operator-specific Bundles, which are available for 1,680 R6 credits. It can also be unlocked through Containment Packs, priced at 300 R6 Credits or 12,500 Renown each.
In addition to these items, there’s also the chance to get the Nomad Hive Mind set for free. To get this one, players just need to win ten rounds in the event from August 17 to August 24.
Before we forget, Rainbow Six Siege is having a free weekend from August 13 to August 15. During this period, players can earn twice as many bonus Battle Pass points. Not enough? The game is also being offered during this period at a 70% discount.
