Strip action role-playing game, Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed has released an official gameplay trailer, with publisher XSEED Games confirming that the game will be availble this winter.
The gameplay trailer showcased the lively streets of Akibahara and some familiar strip combat scenes we’ve been looking forward to.
Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed was first announced some time ago by publisher XSEED Games and developer Acquire, and it will be released for PC and PlayStation 4. It is a high-definition remake of Akiba’s Trip Plus, which was released for PSP a few years back.
Akiba’s Trip made the players strip Shadow Souls to defeat them with the power of sunlight. Hellbound & Debriefed is here to remake that experience for its first-time release in the west. After the major success of Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed in Japan, the developers decided to remake the original title using the modern engine to bring back the spirit of “beat ‘em up and strip ‘em down” gameplay for the fans.
Akiba’s Trip focuses on the protagonist Nanashi, a nerd who is madly in love with anime and manga culture. In other words, he is a dedicated otaku. This is the main reason why he loves visiting Akihabara. This place is a paradise for geeks because of the otaku goods found in it, but in this game, it is also the hangout for the vampire-like creatures called Kageyashi. The player’s mission is to get rid of the Kageyashi; however, it is very hard to tell them apart from other humans so you must use your mobile camera. The combat system is called ‘Strip Action.’ Players will be removing the clothes of enemies in order to expose them to sunlight, which is their main weakness.
We will have to be on the lookout for the game’s specific release date. For now, all we know is that it will be coming this winter. If you can’t wait until then, you can try out other games from the Akiba Series, like the action role-playing game, Akiba’s Beat. It is currently available for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. You can grab a copy for $29.99.
In the meantime, tell us what you think about the upcoming Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed.
