Something big is happening soon in Hearthstone. A new chapter in Battlegrounds starts April 16. Once of the highlights is the introduction of Play Duos.
In Battlegrounds Duos, players and their partners queue together for a game against three other teams having two players. In this mode, teams have shared life totals and pass each other cards through the Portal for 1 Gold. They also fight in tag-team combat to take the crown.
Players can swap between solo Battlegrounds and Battlegrounds Duos through the main Battlegrounds menu. From the Duos menu, players can invite a friend to play as their teammate. They also have the option to queue on their own and get paired with a random player. There's going to be separate ratings for solo Battlegrounds and Battlegrounds Duos, and separate leaderboards.
New Duos Heroes
With the arrival of Duos, players can look forward to seeing some Duos-specific Heroes along with cards which take advantage of this mode's new gameplay. There's going to be a total of 4 heroes, 16 minions, and 3 tavern spells to be added. However, there are only going to be be available in Battlegrounds Duos and not the regular Battlegrounds mode.
New Update
While the introduction of Duos is indeed exciting, there's more coming in Season 7. For example there's the massive update to minions not just for Duos but also for Solo Battlegrounds. Expect to see 50 new minions along with more than a dozen making a return. There's also new Tavern Spells to be added.
Other changes coming include the rework to Beasts and the big refreshes to Dragons and Mechs.
