Bethesda may have a new, unannounced game arrive by the end of the year. The developer also may NOT have a new game this year. If you’re confused, welcome to the party.

In an interview with Bethesda’s VP of PR and Marketing, Pete Hines, the new game was first confirmed, although no details were mentioned.
“We even have a game coming out this year we haven’t even told anyone about,” Hines said in the interview. The clip from the interview can be watched above.

Hines would reply to this clip on Twitter, seemingly denying what he had said. “I probably just had a concussion from the beating I took online and was rambling,” Hines tweeted. “Ignore.”

However, Hines wasn’t done yet. When replying to others on Twitter, Hines covered up his cover up, saying he knows what he said in the interview. This seemingly sounds like Hines is going back to saying that the interview is correct and there IS a new game coming by the end of the year.
So let’s assume Bethesda is making a new game. What could it be? If the game is coming by the end of the year, that means there’s only three and a half months left to announce the game, promote it and ship it. With such a small timeframe, it’s safe to say whatever this mystery is, it isn’t going to be a major release like The Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5.
Realistically, Bethesda is probably going to make another mobile game. Fallout Shelter was a massive success for Bethesda, so it would be foolish for the company to not make any more mobile games. A smart move might be to make a Skyrim mobile game to go along with the Skyrim re-releases on Switch and VR.
Whatever is going on, there’s only a few months left to wait. If we get into December without any announcements from Bethesda, it is likely this unannounced project will either be delayed or never existed in the first place.
