During the Nintendo 3DS Direct , Reggie and the other Nintendo peeps teased announcements of the handheld’s 2017 games lineup and delivered towards the end.
There were a lot of upcoming games for the 3DS in 2017 and a lot were surprising, to say the least.
Here’s a rundown of all the Nintendo 3DS games coming in 2017.
PIKMIN
The Pikmin franchise is coming to the 3DS for the first time in a side-scrolling adventure that lets you take control of Olimar as you use your Pikmin friends to get through harrowing stages.
Simply tap the bottom screen with your stylus for precision Pikmin tossing as you use your different colored Pikmin to complete certain tasks and to defeat big bosses.
There’s no release date for the Pikmin 3DS game and there is no final title, but those will be announced closer to release.
Poochy And Yoshi’s Wooly World
Yoshi’s Wooly World was an adorable and fun Wii U title that allowed players to use Yoshi in a side-scrolling adventure set in a yarn world.
The game is now being ported to the Nintendo 3DS with every Wii U stage plus some added extra features, including Poochy pups that Yoshi can use to sniff out secret areas in every stage.
The game is set to release Feb. 3, 2017 and will come with a brand new yarn amiibo based on Poochy, which you can see below.

MARIO SPORTS SUPERSTARS
The Mario sports games are always pretty fun, and now players can take five Mario sports on-the-go in Mario Sports Superstars .
Scheduled to launch spring 2017, players will be able to play tennis, golf, baseball, soccer and horse racing on their handhelds. Each sport will be a full-fledged version and the Mario soccer portion will have 11-on-11 action, just like in real life.
And not only can you play solo, you can join friends in local and online multiplayer to prove who is the best Mario sports player.
EVER OASIS
The brand new 3DS IP that was revealed at E3 was shown off again during the Nintendo 3DS Direct.
Ever Oasis’ story takes place in a sprawling desert with the oasis at its heart. Travelers with different wants, needs and wishes will visit the oasis. Players must head into the desert and locate dungeons. Allies with specific weapons and unique skill sets will join and strengthen the team.
Items claimed in the desert can be used as materials to craft items to sell at shops in the game, or give to certain travelers. There’s no release date or even a release date window yet for Ever Oasis, but it will launch sometime in 2017.
