No Man’s Sky is coming out Tuesday, and dedicated gamers will be able to start playing right at midnight if they know what to do. Downloading via PSN is always an option, but if you want the pre-order bonuses or the proper release experience, you’ll want to call your local retailers to see if they have any plans.
Check out GameStop’s store locator for details about where you can find your local GameStop and pick up No Man’s Sky. Pre-ordering at GameStop will get you the following:
Blu-ray disc with the game
GameStop Exclusive early access to the Rezosu Z65 multi-tool
GameStop Exclusive 10,000 units bonus currency to start with
Early access to the Upgraded Alpha Vector ship
If GameStop's not your thing, Best Buy and other retailers will offer early access to the Upgraded Alpha Vector ship as a pre-order bonus. Check out which of the Best Buys near you open at midnight for the release of No Man’s Sky by checking their online store locator.
If you're getting your copy of No Man’s Sky from either Target or Walmart then you'll need to call your local store and find out if they're doing a midnight release. Sometimes the Target/Walmart strategy can pay off, since they're not the stores most gamers go to for midnight releases and the lines can be shorter. However, every location is different so your local store might not be doing a No Man’s Sky midnight release. Use the Target store locator and Walmart store locator to find out which place near you will let you get to exploring the universe first.
For those who want the ultimate No Man’s Sky package, you may be too late. Limited Edition versions of No Man’s Sky include a SteelBook case, a comic with two stories set in the No Man’s Sky universe, an art book, in-game bonuses and a PS4 dynamic theme. The Limited Edition, at least on Amazon, is sold out for right now. You might have better luck calling a local game store.
