Octopath Traveler II is launching worldwide on February 24, 2023. This latest addition to the critically acclaimed Octopath Traveler series will arrive on PC through Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
Pre-orders for the Standard Digital Edition are now available but only limited to PC and PlayStation. The pre-order for Nintendo Switch is to start at a later date. Those who pre-order can get the Travel Provisions DLC pack, which contains these consumable items:
- Healing Grape (M) x 5
- Inspiriting Plum (M) x 5
- Revitalizing Jam x 2
- Gold Dust x 1
- Can be sold for 5,000 leaves in-game.
There is also a physical Collector’s Edition Set available for pre-order for PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. This comes with:

In Octopath Traveler II, players travel to the brand-new world of Solistia and experience a new storyline, meet new characters, and enjoy new features. The game is a good start for those new to the series. Veteran players can also have fun since it preserves the charm that was in the original game.
New and returning gameplay features and elements include:
- Break and Boost Battle System
- Players need to act strategically and exploit enemy weaknesses to “Break” them.
- As a result, they get to inflict more damage.
- Players can also “Boost” their travelers to enhance their abilities.
- Path Actions
- Players can interact with NPCs throughout the world in different ways by using actions unique to each character.
- Path Actions vary depending on the protagonist and whether it is day or night.
- Brand-New Story and Characters
- Players can go on a grand adventure in the new land of Solistia and experience the intertwined stories of eight new travelers:
- Hikari (Warrior)
- Agnea (Dancer)
- Partitio (Merchant)
- Osvald (Scholar)
- Throné (Thief)
- Temenos (Cleric)
- Ochette (Hunter)
- Castti (Apothecary)
- Day/Night Cycle
- The townscapes and Path Actions are available to each character and will change if it is night or day.
- This allows more opportunities for exploration and discovery.
- Latent Power
- This is a new battle element where characters can unleash a powerful ability once the ability’s gauge fills up during combat.
- Crossed Paths
- Additional stories unfold between the protagonists as their journey progresses, further intertwining their narratives.
