Video games don't need to come exclusively from big development studios and Nintendo is proving it. Earlier this week, Nintendo revealed that a wide selection of indie games was arriving to the Switch this year. Just how many? Well, there are at least 20 new indie games to be launched.
In a statement, Vice President of Publisher and Developer Relations for Nintendo America, Steve Singer, said that the Switch remains to be a home for many of the world's independent developers. He went on to say that with this, "developers get to launch their games on a system that can be played at home or taken on the go, while fans can enjoy a rapidly growing library of these diverse and inspired indie games.”
For those who want to give these games a try, you won't have to wait long as two of them have already been released.
The first is Exit the Gungeon, which comes from Dodge Roll & Singlecore Games. This is a dungeon climber where players take on the role of bullets and follows the story of Enter the Gungeon. It's available at the Nintendo eShop for $9.99.
The second is Sky Racket. Developed by Double Dash Studios, it calls itself the first Shmup Breaker in the world. If that sounds confusing, think of it as a block breakers mixed in with a shoot 'em up. It's in the eShop for $14.99.
