Activision Blizzard is on its way to deliver another anime collaboration for its arena-based PvP action shooter, "Overwatch 2," and the next content it will reportedly feature is from the renowned sci-fi mech story, "Gundam Wing."
According to a new leak, "Gundam Wing" is making its way to the game as skins for existing characters in the action shooter game.
However, the latest rumors also claim that it is for selected heroes only, and not all available characters in the game would be able to get their "Gundam Wing" look once the collaboration arrives.
'Overwatch 2' 'Gundam Wing' Skins Leak
A user named "-Elixo-" over at the r/Overwatch2 community has shared a new leak about the upcoming collaboration that the arena-based shooter game has, and it centers on another anime crossover.
The collaboration will reportedly bring the "Gundam Wing" mecha suits into the game, but it will be designed for specific characters to wear and would be the same size as their in-game appearance. In the manga and anime depictions of the "Gundam" franchise, the said "Gundam" are mechanical suits that are far larger than their human pilots.
However, for its arrival on "Overwatch 2," they would be "Gundam Wing" skins worn 1:1 to the characters receiving the special skins in this collaboration, and they would not tower over other opponents in-game.
Additionally, Activision Blizzard is aiming to be accurate with its crossover with "Gundam" as "Overwatch 2's" "Gundam Wing" skins would be based on a real counterpart from the anime.
Only four characters are getting "Gundam Wing" skins in the game, and the leak dropped only days before its expected release date, which is coming this April 29, as per GameRant.
'Gundam Wing' Skins Only For Selected Heroes
As mentioned earlier, "Overwatch 2" is only selection four characters who will get to transform into their "Gundam Wing" suit in the game, and this includes Mercy, Soldier: 76, Ramattra, and Reaper. The skins would be based on real skins appearing in the "Gundam" franchise over the years, so this will be a treat not only to "Overwatch 2" fans, but also to avid followers of the Japanese anime.
In the report, it was revealed that Mercy's "Gundam Wing" skin will be based on the "XXG-00W0 Wing Gundam Zero," Soldier: 76's skin will be based on the "OZ-00MS Tallgeese," Ramattra will get a skin based on the "OZ-13MS Gundam Epyon," and Reaper will receive the "XXXG-01D Gundam Deathscythe."
Only Mercy's skin was officially confirmed by Activision Blizzard and "Overwatch 2."
As of writing, the leak only shared the information on the "Gundam Wing" skins coming to "Overwatch 2," but it did not detail the special weapons, skills, or attributes that these characters may receive alongside the skins.
Moreover, the report did not share any details on a possible bundle for all these "Gundam Wing" skins, how much would it cost for each cosmetic, or how much it would cost users to obtain all four.
