It’s time to see if you have what it takes to survive on a mysterious planet as Pikmin 3 Deluxe is now available for the Nintendo Switch. The game is available for $59.99.
For those who managed to play the demo, don’t worry as any data saved from this version can be carried over to the full Pikmin 3 Deluxe release. That’s not all as those who managed to beat the first boss in the demo version and transfer their data to the full version immediately get the Ultra-Spicy difficulty option unlocked.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe follows the story of the crew of the S.S. Drake, who are on a mission to gather food in order to save their home planet. They have recently crashed on a mysterious planet and players must help crew members Alph, Brittany, and Captain Charlie lead a squad of Pikmin. These are creatures that inhabit the planet and can help in different ways:
- Red Pikmin
- Loyal and ferocious, these Pikmin are feisty and fire resistant.
- Yellow Pikmin
- These electricity-loving Pikmin are great when it comes to smashing electrified gates or even directing currents.
- Blue Pikmin
- While these Pikmin can survive on both land and water, they are skilled when doing tasks in aquatic areas.
- Rock Pikmin
- Heavy and unbreakalabe, these Pikmin are good at smashing crystals, especially when thrown at them.
- Winged Pikmin
- They may not be the strongest, but these Pikmin can carry things over water or even lift obstructions.
With the Pikmin in tow, players will explore the different lush environments, solve puzzles, and fight huge critters. Environments include the snow-covered Distant Tundra all the way to the untamed wild of the Twilight River.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe also brings with it a number of improvements as it makes its debut on the Switch. There’s the Story Mode that can be played co-op with a friend. There’s also going to be an adventure that features new side-story missions and focuses on characters Louie and Olimar. Players can also enjoy all the Mission mode DLC stages from the original game’s release, as they are bundled in.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe is also going to offer difficulty options, lock-on targeting, and optional hints. There’s also the Piklopedia for players to learn about all things Pikmin, along with the option to play the game at a more relaxed pace. Pikmin 3 Deluxe also brings back the in-game camera that lets players take pictures of the creatures and environment.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe is out now on the Nintendo Switch.
