The first Pokémon movie (aptly titled Pokémon: The First Movie) will be enjoying a limited theatrical re-release at the end of October, The Pokémon Company announced today.
First released in Japan in 1998, Pokémon: The First Movie introduced the lovable Mew, the complicated Mewtwo and the scarring moment where Pikachu and its clone slap each other through their own tears.
(Ouch, my childhood!)
Pokémon: The First Movie will be airing in participating Cinemark theatres, over 200 of them, on Saturday, Oct. 29 and Tuesday, Nov. 1. The classic short “Pikachu’s Vacation” will also be a part of the re-release. Tickets to the event cost a trifling $5.
There’s also a dope steelbook Blu-ray collection of the first three Pokémon movies available for your viewing pleasure.
If you’d like to relive those sweet-and-sour childhood memories, presale tickets for Pokémon: The First Movie are available here.
