Pokémon Go announced that it is making some changes to Mega Evolutions. This is a result of listening to feedback given by Trainers.
Mega Evolutions were first revealed back in the last week of August. This new feature allows Pokémon to get an additional Evolutionary stage while also being able to get an extra amount of power in battle for a limited time.
The first change coming is that the Mega Energy needed to Mega Evolve a Pokémon that has been Mega Evolved previously has been reduced. The Mega Energy that Trainers get from winning Mega Raids has also been increased.
According to the Pokémon Go team at Niantic, they are also working on some additional adjustment that include:
- Walking with your buddy to earn Mega Energy.
- Getting more ways to earn Mega Energy through research tasks and other gameplay.
- Earning bonus Candy when catching Pokémon that share a type with the Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
As a reminder, there’s going to be three Mega Evolution-themed challenges to be held in September. These are:
- Date: September 1 to September 7
- Complete as many Mega Raids as you can and gather Mega Energy in order to Mega Evolve Pokémon.
- Date: September 11 to September 17
- Perfect those battle skills with Mega-Evolved Pokémon by taking part in Gym battles, Team Go battles, and Trainer Battles.
- Date: September 22 to September 28
- Become buddies with your Mega-Evolved Pokémon and spend time with it. Take snapshots and share them on social media with #GOsnapshot.

Other Issues
This is not the only issue that the Pokémon Go team is looking into. Last week the team said that it was looking into issues that were affecting the Go Battle League. In particular, two main issues were being looked into. The first is the number of bugs that are being experienced. However, this is being addressed by implementing automated testing along with getting more testers.
The second one is on the Known Issues Page, which the team said they want to have a separate page for issue related to the Go Battle League. Read more about that here.
