'Pokemon GO Small Yet Strong' Brings Shiny Nymble, Lokix: Full List of Researches, Spawns, and More

The bug-catching event we haven't seen before.

"Pokémon Go" is hosting a "Small Yet Strong" event starting on Feb. 5. It will run until Feb. 8. It celebrates small yet powerful Pokémon, including some new additions: the shiny versions of Nymble and Lokix, better chances to encounter XXS and XXL Pokémon, and higher rewards.

For bug catchers who don't want to miss this opportunity, here's what you need to know about this new event.

Shiny Nymble and Lokix Debut

Pokemon GO/Niantic

One of the key features of this "Small Yet Strong" event is the addition of Shiny Nymble and its evolved form, Lokix. With this event, players will find a higher likelihood of encountering wild shiny Pokémon versions of these and other Pokémon during the event—a new chance at adding these rarities to your collection.

Event Rewards: Earn Double XP and More Pokémon Size Variations

The whole event will grant doubled XP for catching Pokémon, which is an excellent time to level up fast. There's also an increased chance of encountering XXS (extra small) and XXL (extra large) Pokémon, adding a fun twist to your Pokémon hunting. The size variations are not just cosmetic; they might also play a role in certain challenges and research tasks.

Timed Research Tasks and Rewards

According to Polygon, the "Small Yet Strong" event features unique Timed Research that you can complete for the following rewards. Here's what you'd find in the tasks and rewards: '

Collection Challenges: Catch the Burmy Forms

You can also find Collection Challenges during the event, which involve catching various forms of Burmy. These are easy to complete, but the rewards are worth it:

  • Burmy (Plant)
  • Burmy (Sandy)
  • Burmy (Trash)

Rewards: Nymble encounter, 1,000 Stardust

Field Research Tasks and Encounter Rewards

During the event, Field Research Tasks will also reward encounters with certain Pokémon. Here are some potential tasks and their rewards:

  • Paras
  • Natu
  • Burmy
  • Joltik
  • Tynamo
  • Flabébé
  • Nymble

Moreover, there is a higher possibility of encountering shiny versions of these Pokémon in the wild; therefore, this is a chance to fill your shiny collection.

If you're one of the lucky ones to hatch some eggs during the event, you might find the following Pokémon emerging from 2 km eggs:

  • Togepi
  • Azurill
  • Budew
  • Chingling
  • Espurr
  • Dedenne

Maximize the 'Small Yet Strong' Event

Pokémon Go's "Small Yet Strong" event gives a grand opportunity to catch unique Pokémon, leveling up with double XP, and exciting research tasks.

Availing of the new shiny Pokémon, increased spawn rates, and exclusive rewards-all imperatives make this event a no-brainer. Take full advantage of these bonuses and catch as many XXS and XXL Pokémon as you can before it expires on Feb. 8.

In the meantime, let's hope that "Pokemon GO's Adventure Week" will be launched as early as late July.
