Pokemon GO's Ultra Unlock Part 2 is underway and brings with it the Strength of Steel event where steel-type Pokemon are more likely to swarm and features shiny Togedemaru's debut.
The latest event for the highly popular mobile game will run from July 25, 2024, to July 30, 2024. It will give Pokemon GO players more Candy for hitting nice throws or better as well as increase the chances of getting Candy XL when hitting nice throws or better.
Pokemon GO's Strength of Steel Event
The chances of getting Candy XL in the game are general and are also increased if players are level 31 or higher and they will gain triple stardust from catching Pokemon. Shiny Togedemaru will also be available for the first time during the Strength of Steel event.
However, the biggest draw this time around is the Collection Challenges, which, once completed, will reward players with Mega Energy for steel-type Pokemon. You will also see free Timed Research and useful perks as part of the event, according to Polygon.
These include rewards like a Pawniard encounter, a Magnetic Lure Module, and experience points. Some Pokemon will spawn more frequently during the event, including Alolan Sandschrew, Aron, Beldum, Bronzor, Onix, and many others.
Pokemon GO players can also expect to find different event-themed Pokemon in Raids during the period and they will all be steel-type Pokemon. The various Raid Pokemon will be in One-Star and Three-Star Raids.
The One-Star Raid Pokemon will include Togedemaru, Skarmory, Klink, and Pawniard while Three-Star Raid Pokemon will feature Steelix, Scizor, Mawile, and Aggron.
You can also complete different Event Collection Challenges where you need to catch and evolve specific event-themed Pokemon, said The Gamer.
Various Collection Challenges
There are three main collection challenges that will reward Mega Energy for different Pokemon, including Steelix, Aggron, and Scizor. Each of these challenges will require players to catch and/or evolve steel-type Pokemon.
The event field and research challenges include catching 10 and then 15 steel-type Pokemon, exploring two kilometers, powering up steel-type Pokemon five times, and evolving three steel-type Pokemon. The rewards for these include encounters with Togedemaru, Kilink, and Beldum.
For now, these are what are included in the latest Strength of Steel event in Pokemon GO and the game's July roadmap is looking promising after ending on a strong note.
Many of the events this time around are similar to what experienced players have gotten into in the past, according to Beebom.
