The anniversary Ash-Hat Pikachu event has begun and Pokémon trainers can start downloading one of six special Pikachu onto their Sun or Moon games.
All six Pikachu represent different regions in the Pokémon world that Ash and his Pikachu have traveled in the 20 years since the anime premiered. It’s also a special treat for Pokémon fans as this year’s movie will celebrate that first episode by retelling it.
However, The Pokémon Company is only allowing trainers to download ONE of these special Pikachu using a special code. Each week starting Sept. 19, a new Pikachu will be available.
The first special Pikachu is the Original Hat Pikachu, which represents both Kanto and Johto.
To download it onto either Pokémon Sun or Moon, you’ll have to boot up the game and go to the MYSTERY GIFT tab. Select RECEIVE GIFT and then GET VIA CODE.
Connect to the internet and input this special code: PIKACHU20.
Once the game has found the gift, it will transfer it over to you. Afterwards just go to your nearest Pokémon Center and talk to the man in the blue and orange shirt. The special Pikachu will be transferred to your PC.
