The latest Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon information revealed Mimkyu’s exclusive Z-Move in a brand new trailer. In the Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon trailer, we see Mimikyu using its Z-Move in a brand new cinematic that shows why the Gen 7 Pokémon is part Ghost-type.
Check out the new trailer below.
Mimikyu’s exclusive Z-Move will activate if the Ghost and Fairy-type Pokémon knows the move Play Rough. Elements of the move are in the short cut scene as Mimikyu jumps from tree to tree, causing the opposing Pokémon to become frightened. Mimikyu leaps atop the Pokémon and covers its entire body underneath its cloak.
This is where Mimikyu begins thrashing the captured Pokémon before spitting it out.
It’s equal parts cute and funny but this new exclusive Z-Move coming to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon isn’t the only exclusive move in the new games.
All three Lycanroc forms share a Z-Move called Splintered Stormshards that deals damage and gets rid of terrain effects. Kommo-o receives Clangorous Soulblaze, that hits multiple opponents and raises all of the Dragon-type’s stats by one stage.
The new Necrozma forms also receive new Z-Moves. Searing Sunraze Strike is the Dusk Mane Necrozma’s new move while Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom is Dawn Wings Necrozma’s attack.
Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will bring a lot more than new Z-Moves to Alola. New areas to explore and new Ultra Beasts to capture will be the large selling points but a brand new story on Alola should be a treat.
However, some dataminers have gotten their hands on copies of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon and have begun to leak the information from them, so if you’re trying to avoid any and all spoilers be careful when browsing the web.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon release for Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 17.
