Last month, we saw a Project CARS 2 trailer leak and boy oh boy did the graphics deliver something special. while the YouTube description noted the video was created with in-game footage, it also warned the game is a work in progress and did not announce a release date. Well, the people at Slightly Mad Studios have broken their silence and finally dropped an official 4K trailer on Wednesday.
Before we even see a single car, we're hit with breathtaking Northern lights, a peaceful sunsetover a street circuit, a blistering snowstorm, dense foliage on a clouded day over Europe, and more. Cars are what make a racing game a racing game, but it's the meticulous attention towards creating a world worth driving in that makes a race sim truly great. Slightly Mad Studios gets this and the world that its imagined for the Project CARS sequel is beyond amazing.
The first cars we see are a pair of Aston Martin Vulcan track-only supercars playing in a snowy track. Other cars in the game include a Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Coupe, an Acura NSX GT3-spec race car, Nissan GT-R GT3, McLaren P1 GTR, C7.R Corvette, Pagani Zonda R and more. The trailer also teases Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s 'Ultimate Fun Haver' RTR F150, which suggests Project CARS 2 will promises a significantly more diverse array of cars to have fun with.
Via the description from Project CARS' YouTube video, "With 170+ cars, 60+ tracks, varying terrains and motorsports, tested and approved by world-class drivers, and featuring more iconic cars from the world’s most elite brands, Project CARS 2 is the most beautiful, authentically-crafted, and technically-advanced racing simulation game you’ve ever experienced."
Slightly Mad Studios also announced Project CARS 2 will be available late 2017 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
