Sony has announced its PlayStation Plus games lineup for October 2017 and it includes some really amazing options. Along with the normal list of six games, the October lineup also features an extra VR game and a bonus game included, which means PS+ subscribers can download eight games this month for free.
PS4
The first game coming to PS4 in October is Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, which took place nine years after Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and the fall of Mother Base. Phantom Pain is also the last Metal Gear game from creator Hideo Kojima before the renowned director left Konami to start his own studio.
The second game for PS4 gamers is the Amnesia Collection. This horror bundle contains both The Dark Descent and A Machine for Pigs. While the second game is set years after the events of the first, there are story elements that tie the two together. Give these a try if you want something spooky to play this Halloween.
PS3
The first game for PS3 in October is Monster Jam Battlegrounds. This not only recreates the events inside an arena during a monster truck rally, it also takes the iconic trucks out onto situations like mine cart tracks and city streets.
The second game for PS3 gamers is Hustle Kings. This billiards game features one-on-one matches, online play, tournament play, fancy graphics and much more. If you’ve been looking for a way to shoot some pool on your PS3, here’s the perfect opportunity.
PS Vita
First up for the PS Vita (and PS4 via Cross Buy) is Hue . This charming puzzle platformer allows players to alter the game world by changing the color of the background. If an obstacle matches the background color, it completely disappears.
The final game for PS Vita (as well as PS4 and PS3 via Cross Buy) is Sky Force Anniversary. This top-down shooter features players hopping into ships to blow up enemies in a futuristic world filled with laser beams and towers that fire electricity into the sky.
Bonus Games
The two bonus games this month have already been available to download for a while now, but will continue to be available for another few weeks. First up is That’s You! This social game allows multiple people to sign in using smart devices and play along. If you haven’t downloaded That’s You!, act fast. The free game offer ends Oct. 24.
The final game included in the October PS+ offerings is RIGS Mechanized Combat League for the PSVR. This action sports game is available for all PSVR owners in celebration of the first anniversary of Sony’s VR headset. The free RIGS download will end on Nov. 7.
