A new update is coming to PUBG: Battlegrounds which features changes for the general ruleset for Normal Matchers. Update 23.1 is designed to lessen the disparity of the gameplay experience between Normal and Ranked. Normal Matches give players enough time to do some planning while Ranked is fast and challenging to adapt to.
These changes for Normal Matches via Update 23.1 will only affect Erangel, Miramar, Taego, and Deston:
- Phase
- The Blue Zone during Phases 1 to 3 is now similar as Ranked and slightly faster than before.
- Items
- More items spawn overall:
- Main AR, DMR, SR weapons.
- Helmets, Vests, Backpacks.
- Scopes.
- Motor Gliders have been added to Taego, Vikendi, and Deston.
- Vehicles
- More vehicles spawn overall:
- The spawn rate of major vehicles, like four-wheels, have been adjusted to make them appear more frequently among all spawned vehicles.
- Some vehicles spawn at fixed locations.
- Other systems such as the plane route and the final circle location have been adjusted to match Ranked.
Headshot Effect
While it's good to know that Normal Matches is getting updated, the update also comes with general gameplay adjustments. To increase the sense of satisfaction and impact when landing a headshot, a new visual effect will be added. They should be able to see the helmet being knocked off upon impact, especially when the durability of the helmet is lowered to zero.
Basic Equipment
Players should be happy to know that both Ascender Attachment and Utility Parachute are now included as basic equipment on every map. Changes include:
- Ascender Attachment and Utility Parachute icons that occupied their own Inventory slots have been removed.
- Utility Parachutes can be used any time on every map.
- The Ascender Attachment can be used where Ascenders are attached.
While Utility Parachutes are available everywhere, the Emergency Parachutes are no longer part of Miramar and Haven.
Plane Drop
Another gameplay tweak is that when players get disconnected before the plane drops, their parachutes now automatically follow the next number after theirs. For example, if you are Player 4, you follow Player 1. Other details include:
- If you had previously chosen a player to follow before disconnecting, you continue to follow them.
- Once you reconnect while on the plane, you automatically follow a player.
- Only players who have not yet dropped from the plane can be chosen to follow.
Don’t forget to check out everything that Update 23.1 has to offer. It’s coming to PC on April 11 and consoles on April 19.
PUBG: Battlegrounds is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, and iOS.
