2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Doom, and as such Doom Eternal takes center stage for this year’s QuakeCon, which will be held starting tomorrow, July 25.
Bethesda has now released a complete schedule of events for those who will be in attendance at this historic event, as well as for those at home who are interested in watching it live on various streams. Those who do stream the event might even win some prizes. The event is a mixture of BYOC meet-ups, the largest in North America, as well as keynotes, panels, and of course competitive games featuring the best of the best in Quake.
Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at this year’s QuakeCon scheduling.
July 25, Thursday
- BYOC Open Doors (Running all day)
July 26, Friday
- Legends Masters Series (11:00AM ET) – This event will run all day, featuring the highest level of competition in The Elder Scrolls: Legends. Eight of the best Legends players in the world will compete for their share in a $50,000 prize pool. You can watch the stream here, which also has some exclusive Twitch Drops for its viewers.
- Keynote Presentation (12:00PM ET), 25 Years of DOOM’s Influence on Video Games (immediately following the Keynote Presentation) – The opening for this year’s QuakeCon features an all-star panel of Bethesda developers looking back at how DOOM's launch 25 years ago and how it impacted the video game industry as a whole. The panel will feature development leads from id Software, MachineGames, Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks, and you can watch it live when it begins here. The Keynote itself also has some Twitch Drops for its viewers.
July 27, Saturday
- Our Future Continues – What's Next for Fallout 76 (11:00AM ET) – Fronted by team leads from Bethesda Game Studios, this panel will discuss the incoming updates for Fallout 76: the Adventure Mode and Nuclear Winter. This fall also brings the Wastelanders update, which brings human NPCs to the game and Vault Raids, which you can conquer with your fellow Dwellers. You can watch it live here.
- Knee-Deep in the DOOM (12:00PM ET) – Hosted by id Software developers Marty Stratton and Hugo Martin as they bring the first ever live gameplay demo for the upcoming Doom Eternal. You can watch it live here.
- Building Tamriel – The Evolution of ESO (3:00PM ET) – Hosted by ESO Game Director Matt Firor and Creative Director Rich Lambert, plus members of the #ESOFam in the audience and online (prepare for a repeat of their E3 presentation), this panel will discuss the evolution of The Elder Scrolls Online through the years. Also, expect to hear a little more about the upcoming Scalebreaker and Dragonguard DLCs. You can watch it live here, and expect Twitch Drops from it as well.
July 28, Sunday
- Quake Pro League (9:00AM ET) – The season officially kicks off with a round robin on Thursday, July 25 which lets you watch every match from any Pro player’s point of view for the first time ever. (Check it out on QuakeCon TV.) Tune in this Sunday to see who of the top 20 Quake players from around the world will emerge as the new World Champion for this year’s QuakeCon. Twitch Drops
Some participating panels and events are eligible for Twitch Drops. All you have to do to receive them is to tune into the chosen QuakeCon keynote or event as listed in the appropriate Twitch channels below, making sure that your Twitch account is linked to your Bethesda.net account and your Elder Scrolls Online account. This year’s QuakeCon Twitch Drops include:
- RAGE 2 – Watching the keynote presentation on the Bethesda Twitch channel will net you the exclusive Twitch Assault Rifle skin and the Ghost Assault Rifle skin for Rage 2. Skins will be received a week after QuakeCon.
- The Elder Scrolls: Legends – You can get up to two separate Drops for Legends during QuakeCon this year. One is for watching the keynote on the Bethesda Twitch channel, which will yield a Moons Of Elsweyr Legendary Pack. The other is for the Master Series on Friday, which you can watch on the Legends official Twitch channel and will yield three Moons of Elsweyr card packs. The card packs will appear when you load up the game a week after QuakeCon
- The Elder Scrolls Online – As with Legends, ESO will have two different Twitch Drops. The first can be received by watching the keynote on Friday, yielding three Ouroboros Crown Crates. The next one will be given during the ESO panel on Saturday, yielding the Flame Atronach Senche Jaguar pet and one more Ouroboros Crown Crate. Both can be watched on the official Bethesda Twitch channel, with the rewards dropping a week after QuakeCon.
