The on-going COVID-19 pandemic has had a very big effect on the gaming industry. Multiple annually-held conferences and events were affected by the outbreak. Events like E3, GDC 2020, and QuakeCon were either canceled or turned into online conferences. Several companies like Xbox, PlayStation, Ubisoft, and EA held online events to reveal what they have been cooking up all this time, and now its Bethesda’s turn.
Bethesda announced back in March that this year’s QuakeCon, which was going to take place in August, was canceled. Instead, now we have an online replacement for the event. The event will take place from August 7 to August 9 and will focus on many of Bethesda’s titles like Doom Eternal, Fallout 76, Dishonored, and The Elder Scrolls Online.
Do not expect trailers or gameplay of Starfield and Elder Scrolls 6, as the company already announced that any new information about these games is years away. However, I do hope that we learn more about the upcoming Story DLC for Doom Eternal. Eternal is supposed to get two story-based expansion packs, but even four months after launch we haven’t gotten an iota of information from ID Software except the two screenshots released back in May.
