The surprising absence of Rainbow Six Quarantine and Gods & Monsters from the most recent Ubisoft Forward did stir up some doubts among anticipating fans. However, it seems that the company is still looking at releasing both of these games by March 2021.
During Ubisoft's Q1 financial earnings call, the company addressed that Rainbow Six Quarantine and Gods & Monsters should not be delayed further, but if the need arises, delays could end up happening anyway.
The delays were addressed during the Q&A session when Ubisoft confirmed that both of these games will be launching this fiscal year, in other words, they will be launching by March 2021. Ubisoft's CEO, Yves Guillemot, stated that both of these games are "doing well" and the team is happy for the additional time to work on these projects. Guillemot also suggested that the games may also release in Q4, which is the period between January and March 2021.
Guillemot also stated that either of the two games may end up slipping into fiscal year 2022, which starts on April 1, 2021, if the team considers that additional time will improve the long-term impact of the game.
In a later part of the discussion, Guillemot said that both the games are in the polish phase as of now. He also remarked that fans will get to hear more about these games in the coming months, pointing to the second Ubisoft Forward that is due in September.
Both Rainbow Six Quarantine and Gods & Monsters were delayed after the colossal failure of Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Watch Dogs Legion was also delayed as a result of Breakpoint's disappointing sales, but Legion is now confirmed to release on October 29.
A Gods & Monsters demo for Google Stadia was also briefly leaked, confirming that development is still ongoing.
