The Six Invitational 2021 Europe Finals between BDS and G2 have concluded. The matches were played in a best of five series and you can read more about the first half of the game over here.
The third map of the series was played on Coastline, which seems like a map BDS would win because of their frag-heavy playstyle. G2 tried to make a play on Round 2 while attacking the Kitchen site. G2 prepared for a rush thinking the site was clear, however, once they noticed BDS rotated back into site G2 dropped the idea to rush and went to pressure BDS vertically. This move was rather smart considering if G2 had rushed, they would have lost the round as BDS would have crossfires. G2 even managed to win the round after they dumped so much utility into the rush. The first half of the map went 3-3, which showed excellent performances from both teams.
BDS's Bryan "Elemzje" Tebessi played extremely well as he topped the leaderboard with eight kills in the first half, and he went on a rampage during the second half as well. For the final round on Kitchen, G2 decided to hold Penthouse - a common strategy in higher leagues. This didn’t work out against BDS familiar with the setup, which they were able to clear. BDS took the map with a 7-4 scoreline with Elemzje sitting on 16 kills.
The fourth map of the series played on Clubhouse was a dominating match from G2. This map was terrible for BDS as Elemzje was not able to frag and at the same time Ben "CTZN" McMillan fragged out for G2 with 17 kills.
The fourth map of the series was Clubhouse, and it showed the dominating power of G2. This map was terrible for BDS as Elemzje couldn't frag while G2's Ben "CTZN" McMillan successfully fragged out the other team, resulting in 17 kills.
The final map was Consulate that decided which team would have the crown. BDS had a terrible time with this map as well as they were unable to find frags or even counter G2. G2 took the series with a 7-2 scoreline making them the victor of the Grand Finals. Still, BDS has a chance to fight again, possibly meet G2, in the upcoming Six Invitational, which will start in February.
