Rainbow Six Siege players are no strangers to continuous balancing changes, however, the upcoming ones will still nonetheless surprise some. Developer Ubisoft revealed the designer’s notes for the Y8S1.2 mid-season update that will first go live on the test server soon.

Many operators like Tachanka and Capitao will get crucial buffs while some fan-favorite ops are nerfed. A minor nerf for the extended barrel attachment is set as well. Take note that this update won’t bring any major reworking as that will come next season.

Sad news for Kapkan and Oryx fans as both of them will lose their 1.5x sight. 9X19VSN, used by Kapkan, and T-5, used by Oryx, won’t have access to their sights anymore. This upcoming change should make a big dent in their pick rate. Wamai will receive a crucial buff as his MP5K gets access to 1.5x sight. This should make challenging long-range fights with him a bit easier.

The greatest number of changes are made for Tachanka. Even with his recent rework, his pick rate wasn’t very good and the upcoming tweak should change that. His primary weapon, 9X19VSN, will get access to both 1.5x and 2.0x sights. His primary ability, Shumikha Launcher, will be buffed as well, with now having 20 projectiles instead of 14, although the magazine size is down to five projectiles from the previous seven.

The highlights of the update are mentioned below.
