Remnant: From the Ashes is celebrating its two-year anniversary today. It was on this day in 2019 that the game was released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Developer Gunfire Games is calling this latest milestone "Two Years of Surviving." As part of the celebration, Gunfire is offering huge discounts until August 23.
The base game is now available on both Steam and Epic Games Store for $16.99, a 60% discount. The Complete Edition, meanwhile, is being offered at 50% off, now at $24.99. A good way to celebrate indeed!
A Two Years of Surviving trailer has been released that you can watch below:
When Remnant: From the Ashes was released back in 2019, it was hailed by many as one of the year’s sleeper hits. The game has received mainly positive reviews. Since its official launch, it has released two DLCs in 2020 with Swamps of Corsus and Subject 2923. In May of this year, a free major upgrade patch was released to allow players experience the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Overall, the game managed to sell at least 3.2 million units across different platforms.
The game takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, which has been overrun by Root, an interdimensional evil. Players take on the role of a wandering survivor who wants to put an end to the Root. It involves looking for a tower said to be the epicenter of the invasion.
In terms of game mechanics, Remnant: From the Ashes takes inspiration from the Souls series but with its own twist. Thus instead of just offering melee combat, the game includes a third-person shooter element. Besides using a melee weapon, players can actually use up to two guns: a main weapon and a sidearm.
Remnant: From the Ashes also implements something different for its multiplayer aspect. The game lets players team up with others and progress through the game’s story. However, the difficulty of the game scales based on how many players are on the team.
