According to a recent datamine, Resident Evil 3: Remake could be coming to the Nintendo Switch via the Cloud. The information comes shortly after Nintendo officially announced that Control and Hitman 3 will be playable on the handheld console via the cloud. If you aren't aware of cloud gaming, the feature lets you stream games remotely.
Recently, the folks at Resetera were able to spot a Resident Evil 3: Cloud Version listing on the same website that players are redirected to when they launch Control on the Switch.
Previously, dataminers had also found evidence of a Resident Evil 3 Switch version while going through the pre-release demo of the game.
Cloud gaming on the Nintendo Switch isn't a new thing. The handheld console already lets users play a variety of AAA games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Resident Evil 7 via the cloud in Japan. However, with Control and Hitman 3, it is the first time that cloud gaming on Switch has been introduced to the West.
If Resident Evil 3 is coming to the Switch, there's a pretty good chance that Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 7, and even the upcoming Resident Evil 8 may become playable on the hybrid console.
In the Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, which was held yesterday, Nintendo revealed the cloud version of Control Ultimate Edition. Switch users can head over to the eShop to start streaming the game, however, Nintendo warns that you'll need a stable high-speed internet connection to be able to play the game smoothly.
Nintendo Switch users can start streaming Control and future streamable games on their handheld console by downloading a free launcher application. After downloading the launcher, players will be allowed to test the game for some time before buying the "Access Pass" for $39.99.
