Starting today, all PS4 and Xbox One players will be able to experience the upcoming Resident Evil 3 Remake through a free playable demo. The demo is currently available on both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live. Developer Capcom is also preparing a free open beta for Resident Evil Resistance, which will be available for download on March 27. The full Resident Evil 3 Remake will release on April 3 along with the campaign and Resistance.
Resident Evil 3 takes place a day before the unfolding of events in Resident Evil 2. The game puts players in the shoes of Jill Valentine, who is trying to escape the infested Raccoon City. While playing Resident Evil 3, players will come across the terrifying Nemesis, a bioweapon that will constantly chase Jill throughout Raccoon City.
Players that hop onto the demo will have demo-specific challenges that require the collection of 20 Mr. Charlie bobbleheads that have been placed in several secret locations around Raccoon City. Finding all of the bobbleheads unlocks a surprise.
The demo for Resident Evil Resistance starts on March 27, which is a unique one versus four multiplayer mode where one player assumes the role of the Mastermind. The remaining four players have to escape a research facility before death finds them. The Resident Evil Resistance beta will be available until the full game launches on April 3.
Speaking of Resident Evil 3 Remake, it is a complete reimagination of the classic Resident Evil 3 that was originally released on the PlayStation. The remake is releasing just one year after Capcom's acclaimed Resident Evil 2 Remake release. Resident Evil 3 Remake will receive a bunch of gameplay and visual overhauls, borrowing everything that worked in Resident Evil 2 Remake and ramping it up quite extensively.
