Resident Evil 7 will not make its way to the Nintendo Switch, at least not at the moment. In a recent discussion with Express Online, producer Masachika Kawata and director Koshi Nakanishi explained why RE7 is not going to make it to the Switch at launch.
“I think it’s a very unique piece of hardware,” Kawata said to Express Online. While RE7 is ready for the masses on Jan. 24. Kawata only had this to say about the new console: "I'm looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch.”
Among the slew of publishing partners that have signed on with the Nintendo Switch, Capcom may release RE7 for Nintendo, but just not right now. RE7 looks incredible and from what we’ve seen thus far, it plays really well on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Considering the Switch’s modest graphics and processing power, a forced RE7 port may cause ugly flashbacks of the disappointing RE4 on Wii. Who can forget all the bugs and twitchy graphics back then?
While horror fans gear up for RE7’s release, there are still a few other games coming to Nintendo Switch to look forward to.
Resident Evil 7 is out Jan. 24 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and it promises to scares you the living crap out of you.
