The recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 due to a faulty battery may be a very serious issue, but that has not stopped the internet from making light of the situation. As can be expected in this period of heavy criticism of Samsung, many memes have surfaced on social media poking fun at the situation. The memes depict everything from soldiers using the Galaxy Note 7 as a grenade to the device’s waterproof capabilities being used as a remedy to it catching fire.
While you check out many of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 memes below, take the time to prepare your handset for return. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has instituted an official recall of the device and Samsung also continues to urge users to power down handsets until they can be returned. New models with batteries that have been approved as safe will begin shipping no later than Sept. 21, Samsung said in a statement Thursday.
The manufacturer says consumers should take their Galaxy Note 7 handset back to where it was purchased for return or exchange. Faulty handsets can be exchanged for a new Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge or returned for a full refund of the device and accessories. Those who exchange the Galaxy Note 7 for new Galaxy smartphone will also get a $25 gift card, in-store credit, in-store accessory credit or bill credit from the carrier or retailer where the handset was purchased.
Seriously guys, go return your Galaxy Note 7 and wait for the safer models.
