Recent reports suggest consumers may have to shell out upwards of $900 for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. The device’s launch event was announced Tuesday and according to rumors, consumers should expect the device to include a host of new and updated features. But will these features drive the price of the Galaxy Note 7 up? Likely not, if the prices of older Galaxy Note handsets are any indication.
Since its inception, the Galaxy Note line has always been one of Samsung’s most expensive smartphones. It has traditionally been pricier than devices in the Galaxy S line due to its larger display and additional features, such as the S-Pen stylus. However, the smartphone has pretty consistently sold for between $700 and $800 since the first Galaxy Note hit the market.
If prior pricing is any indication, the Galaxy Note 7 may sell for a price similar to more recent handsets, like the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy Note 4. Here’s a rundown of prices for current and prior devices in the Galaxy Note line and some of their standout features.
