Early rumors about Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch have suggested the manufacturer may collaborate with Swiss watchmaker de Grisogono for a luxury model of the wearable. A more recent leak may give a sneak peak at that high-end design.
Korean blog Tizen Cafe shared, images of a timepiece it claims is the Galaxy Gear 3 on Twitter Monday. Pundits have compared the watch's design to a Rolex; however, the images are washed out, obscuring some of the more intricate details of the watch faces.
The two wearable models are yellow gold and rose gold options. They feature chain link bands and the de Grisogono logo can be seen on the pink gold model, which could be a giveaway. Outside of the design, the images give away no feature details about the wearable.
Recent reports suggest Samsung has codenamed the Gear S3 “Solis,” which made us wonder whether the smartwatch will include a feature having to do with light. However, little is currently known about the features of the Gear S3. One tidbit is that there are five model numbers associated with the Gear S3, two of which may be carrier models, possibly Verizon and Sprint.
Samsung is expected to announce the Gear S3 in September during the IFA Expo. Another rumor suggests the Gear S3 may include iOS compatibility , which would allow the smartwatch to be controlled by an iPhone.
