The Galaxy Note 6 may not be the only thing Samsung has planned for the second half of 2016. Recent rumors suggest the manufacturer may introduce a refresh of its smartwatch line at IFA.
Possibly called the Samsung Gear S3, a new smartwatch may debut in September, with a luxury model designed by Swiss watchmaker de Grisogono, according to the Korea Herald . The smartwatch may also be showcased at the luxury watch and jewellery show, Baselworld, next March.
De Grisogono officials recently told the publication that it is currently working with Samsung on its next-generation smartwatch.
Likelihood of the validity of these reports are high, considering Samsung launched the Gear S2 smartwatch at IFA in September 2015. The manufacturer also collaborated with de Grisogono on a luxury model of that smartwatch, which sells for $15,000 and sells out regularly, according the Korea Herald.
At this time, there are no reports about the Gear S3 pertaining to specs. However, recent reports indicate that Samsung is moving forward with establishing iOS compatibility for its Gear wearable line, which sounds like the type of thing that would be announced at a major launch.
