Shadow Fight 3 will be released sometime in Fall 2016 according to the franchise’s developer, Nekki. Headquartered in Moscow, Nekki has gathered over a 170 million downloads across iOS, Android, Windows, Amazon and Steam on the backs of mobile arcade hits such as Shadow Fight 2 and Vector.
“We’re thrilled to return to the Shadow Fight franchise. It’s one that we’ve seen resonate with our players more than any other, and we feel it does a great job representing our studio and what we love about gaming,” Nekki Founder and CEO Dmitry Terekhin said. “The success of the original Shadow Fight games has been a huge part of the Nekki brand, and we’ve put a lot of hard work and dedication into producing the next title in the franchise.”
The biggest change in Shadow Fight 3 may be the jump from 2D to 3D from Shadow Fight 2 . The sequel to the sequel has been in the works for more than two years, and reportedly took 80,000 man hours to develop start to finish.
New features in Shadow Fight 3 will include the ability to choose your own faction — the brutal Legion, the stealthy Dynasty or the deadly Heralds — which will each have their own play style, much more collectibles in the form of weapons, gear and booster packs, dynamically generated quests to keep your entertained, and a new shadow form.
Shadow Fight 3 will allow in-game customization as well, meaning players will be able to combine weapons with skills and shadow techniques to create new fighting styles.
