There's been a lot of hype surrounding the upcoming video game Hogwarts Legacy. It looks like the excitement is getting up a notch with the reveal of the voice talents, with Simon Pegg leading the pack, voicing Phineas Nigellus Black.
In the game, Black is the present cantankerous Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He comes from a long lineage of Slytherins and is hated by students to whom he also has great disdain. Considered as ill-suited to the job, all he wants is to do the least amount of work possible while avoiding exposure to the student body. He prefers to focus on his status in the wizarding world along with his surgically manicured beard.
In the game, players take on the role of fifth-year students joining Hogwarts for the first time. Sebastian Croft and Amelia Gething are the ones lending their talents to the playable avatar. These avatars are customizable so players can select if they want to be a witch or wizard.
The Deputy Headmistress
Another key character in the game is Professor Matilda Weasley. She's a Gryffindor and currently the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts. She helps players in catching up with other students by giving them the Wizard’s Field Guide and also showing them the Room of Requirement. She's voiced by Lesley Nicol, known for her role as Mrs. Patmore in Downton Abbey.
The New Divination Professor
Then, there's Kandace Caine who plays Professor Onai, who was once a Divination teacher at Uagadou, the largest wizarding school in the world. While she is a gifted seer, her faith in her sight has been shaken after she wasn't able to foresee the loss of her husband. Leaving those painful memories behind, she accepted the invitation to teach Divination at Hogwarts.

Another character is Professor Satyavati Shah, professor of Astronomy. Raised in the Muggle world, Shah is devoted to sciences and has a tendency to talk down students through winding and pretentious aphorisms. She is voiced by Sohm Kapila.
Meet the Ravenclaws
Fans of the Harry Potter series should be thrilled to know that Luke Youngblood is part of the game. For those not that familiar, he played Lee Jordan in the film series. In the game, he'll be voicing Everett Clopton, a Ravenclaw who's an underachieving rule-breaker and prankster.
There is also Asif Ali who voices another Ravenclaw student in Amit Thakkar. Bright and well-read, he never hesitates to help a friend in need. However, there are times, especially when he's in the thick of things, that he realizes it's better to read about adventures instead of being part of them.
Dual Role
Finally, Jason Anthony will be voicing two characters. The first is the Gryffindor house ghost Nearly Headless Nick and second is the Sorting Hat.
In Hogwarts Legacy, players experience the life of a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The game is launching worldwide February 10 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Meanwhile, versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are coming out April 4, and July 25 for Nintendo Switch.
