A brand new trailer offers a lot of new information about the The Sims 4: Vampires game pack releasing Jan. 24. Most importantly, the footage and blog post reveal there will be at least seven supernatural powers available to Vampires. The best part about the powers is you don’t have to choose just one. With the new Vampire Rank system, you can unlock them all through research and experience until you become a grandmaster.
VAMPIRE RANK
There are few ways to increase your vampire rank and it appears to work similarly to skills. There’s dueling, which seems like a pretty rough fight in the trailer. Reading Vampire lore is another option. And last but not least, mentorship. Increasing the Vampire rank unlocks the following supernatural powers, with more to come.
VAMPIRE POWERS
- Shapeshift into bat
- Mind control
- Mist form
- Super speed
- Super strength
- Charming
VAMPIRE WEAKNESSES
With these special powers, which can inflict harm on other Sims, come weaknesses to balance them out.
- Thin skin is extra flammable
- Uncontrollable hissing could make it harder to gain friends
- Guilty drinker--only drink plasma fruit because they are ‘weak willed’ and filled with guilt
- Withered stomach--This vampire will become sick in normal human form
- Sleep of the undead--only nap or sleep in coffin
NEW OBJECTS
In addition to all this exciting gameplay, Lauren Neel, one of the artists who worked on the game pack, posted closeups of a few objects. There’s a host of new statutes and gothic decorations, as well as an old-school radiator, creepy trees without leaves, ancient books and a new gold sink. The trailer reveals new caged candles, classic candlesticks, tombstones, vines, wooden double doors, a big red armchair, an array of paintings, mirrors and a standing clock.
