Star Wars Battlefront 2 update 1.2, or presumably 1.07 on PS4, will release Feb. 19 across all platforms. In a new forum post, EA Community Manager Mat Everett detailed the exact times for deployment. The PC version will be posted first at 4 a.m. EST, followed by the PS4 build at 5 a.m. EST. The Xbox One version will be the final deployment at 6 a.m. EST.

While the update’s full patch notes won’t be available until the content is officially live, Everett’s post from last week offers a brief glimpse at what fans can expect. Featured improvements include the limited Jetpack Cargo game mode, new content for the single-player Arcade Mode, a fixed Milestone system and balancing tweaks for Heroes, weapons, classes and maps. In other words, it sounds a lot like the 1.1 update that arrived in January.

While the recent communication is appreciated by fans who are hungry for details about Battlefront 2’s future, there’s still lots of major information that hasn’t been talked about. For one, there are significant progression changes planned to release in March, and this update offers no hints about how those systems might change.

There also hasn’t been any mention of a second multiplayer season either. In-game messages suggest an event is “coming soon,” but EA has remained silent when it comes to offering additional details. Battlefront 2’s directors have candidly admitted the content was delayed so their developers can do some “soul searching,” but maybe we’ll finally learn more about what that means when the patch goes live. All indications point to the addition of prequel-era or Clone Wars content, but we won’t know the true roadmap without an official announcement.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is in the midst of recovering from one of the most controversial game launches of 2017. While specific talk of the title’s obtrusive Loot Crates has mostly died down, state legislators have begun probes into possible federal regulation of randomized rewards in triple-A titles. A fringe rumor from earlier this week also suggests Disney is so disappointed with how EA has handled its Star Wars license that the company may be seeking third-party development help from Activision or Ubisoft.

One might say this small update doesn’t have much to do with those larger issues, but that’s definitely not the case. Whether you’re directly involved with those controversies or just want Battlefront 2’s multiplayer to improve, these early-2018 patches will ultimately decide if this wavering online community flourishes or decays. If the right fixes aren’t introduced at the right time, it may become a bit more difficult to find a populated server. On the federal side, a misguided response will only push those probes further.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. These patch deployment listings are just estimates of the release times, but they should be fairly accurate.
