Bad news to those looking forward to the release of Starship Troopers - Terran Command. The game was supposed to come out this March 31 but has been delayed on June 16.
So why the delay? The official statement from Slitherine Games and The Artistocrats revealed that they need a few additional months to further polish the game and fix bugs. The goal it seems is to make sure that players can enjoy the game from day one without needing to wait for future patches or hotfixes. Both companies did say that the content is already complete and all that's left to do is refine what's already there.
Starship Troopers - Terran Command is a real-time strategy game set in the Starship Troopers universe, the movies in particular. Teams take command of the Mobile Infantry in the fight against the Arachnid threat.
The game is set on the planet of Kwalasha. Mining industries have been hard at work on this desert planet and now face a new danger in the Arachnid. This means the Mobile Infantry has to move quickly and take back control of the planet.
Since the Arachnids depend on their number, the Mobile Infantry needs to come up with effective tactics to hurdle this challenge. For example, players can deploy their units in strategic locations to cover important choke points. Then, there’s also getting superior firepower through the use of elevation levels. Don’t be too overconfident since there are bugs lying in wait to ambush unsuspecting infantry.
Players can enjoy a wide range of unique units, weapons, and special abilities. Infantry squads come armed with Morita Assault Rifles and MX-90 Fragmentation Grenades. Meanwhile, Rocket Troopers can deliver deadly payloads with pinpoint accuracy. There are also Engineers which can help with enhancing defensive positions. As the game moves forward, players get to unlock the Federation’s true potential like being able to access E-Pulse rifles and heavily armed Marauder mechs, to name a few.
System requirements of the game are:
- OS: Windows 7, 8, Windows 10 (64-bit)
- Processor: Intel Core i7 or equivalent
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 1050/Radeon RX 560
- DirectX: Version 9.0
- Storage: 10 GB available space
What do you think? Can you wait a little longer?
